When we think of the "law" of God we usually think about the 10 commandments of Exodus 20:1-17. In verses 18 and 19 the Israelites beg Moses to speak God on their behalf. After the interruption God continues to speak to Moses in verse 23 and onwards through chapters 21 - 23. If God was allowed to continue his presentation, would our view of the "law" of God remined confined to the 10 commandments as it is today?
We are told in Exodus 20 that the people were afraid of the thunder and lightining and fire on mount sinai. Was it God's intention to scare the people when he was communicating with them? Why or Why not?
