God as Redeemer homework assignment

James and John make a unique request to Jesus in Mark 10:35-45 and Matthew 20:20-23.  What do you think they were trying to achieve?  What was Jesus' response?

Review the description of the "Four Beasts" and the "24 Elders" in Revelation 4 (compare to Ezekiel 1) and Revelation 19:4.  What do you think about the request of James and John based on the description of the Throne Room in Revelation?
